What certification do I need?
This trip is for certified divers only. To join the King Cruiser and Shark Point trip, you need a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
Please tell us your certification level and the date of your last dive when you enquire. If you are unsure whether this trip suits your experience, just ask and we will help you decide.
Is scuba equipment included, and are there any other fees?
Scuba equipment is not included in the King Cruiser and Shark Point trip price. A full set costs ฿500 per person per day. Individual items are also available: BCD ฿200, regulators ฿200, wetsuit ฿100, mask and snorkel ฿50, and fins ฿50. A dive computer costs ฿300 per day, a Nitrox cylinder ฿300, and a 15-litre cylinder ฿300 per day.
Tell us what equipment and extras you need when you enquire so that we can prepare everything for you.
Do I need scuba-diving insurance?
Yes. Certified divers need their own suitable scuba-diving insurance for the King Cruiser and Shark Point trip. Your existing travel or dive insurance is fine if it covers your planned dives in Thailand, including the activity, maximum depth, dive date, dive-accident medical treatment, emergency evacuation and recompression-chamber treatment.
Please check your policy and bring confirmation of cover. If you need insurance, see our scuba-diving insurance guide.
Are hotel transfers included?
Return hotel transfers for the King Cruiser and Shark Point trip are included from Kamala, Nakalay, Kalim, Tri Trang / Merlin Beach, Patong, Karon, Kata, Nai Harn, Rawai and Chalong. The boat departs from Chalong Pier.
Your exact pickup time depends on your hotel and is confirmed when you book. Most pickups are between 07:00 and 07:30. If you are staying outside the included area, separate transport will be needed. See our hotel-transfer information or send us your hotel details when you enquire.
What time will I get back to my hotel?
The King Cruiser and Shark Point boat normally reaches Chalong Pier between 17:00 and 17:30, with arrival in Patong usually between 18:00 and 18:30. These are guide times and may change because of weather, currents, traffic and the day’s running order.
Can you help with special dietary requirements?
Please tell us about any dietary requirements for your King Cruiser and Shark Point day in advance. We may not be able to accommodate every request, but we will make every effort to ensure there is suitable food available. If necessary, you may bring your own food and we can help you store it onboard.
Can non-divers or snorkellers join the day trip?
Yes, non-divers and snorkellers are welcome on the King Cruiser and Shark Point day-trip boat for ฿2,500 per person, subject to availability. Please tell us how many divers and non-divers are in your group when you enquire.
What happens if I cancel?
If your plans change, please tell us as soon as possible. We will always try to move your booking to another suitable date where practical, although changes depend on availability and cannot be guaranteed. If you cancel, the 20% booking deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel more than seven days before the activity starts, we will refund anything you paid above the deposit. If you cancel seven days or fewer before the activity starts, no refund is due.
No refund is due for a no-show, a late arrival that prevents participation, or a decision to stop after the activity or course has started.
What happens if Thailand Divers cancels?
If Thailand Divers cancels because of unsafe weather or an operational reason, we will first offer you a suitable alternative date. If the new date does not work for you, we will give you a full refund of everything you paid, including your deposit.
