We register all of our students with DiveAssist.org, a leading provider of scuba diving insurance. This means that you will receive a personal scuba diving insurance policy sent to your email address after signing up for the course.

If you have any questions about your scuba diving insurance policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at Thailand Divers.

Yes you should be relatively comfortable in the water to enjoy scuba diving although it’s normal to be a little nervous. If you generally feel comfortable in the deep end of a swimming pool you will likely have fun diving.

To get your Padi Open Water course Certification you’ll need to pass a watermanship assessment for scuba diving which in general means you should be able to tread water/ float for 10 minutes and swim 200 meters (or snorkel 300 meters) without stopping. There is no time limit and you can use any swimming strokes that work for you.

If you are a non swimmer then the Explore Scuba Diving Course is for you.

Scuba Diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Anyone, regardless of age, with shortness of breath, blurred vision, or any form of chest pain may need to reconsider diving. Avoid disappointment and review the PADI Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in the PADI Open Water Diver Course.

Divers aged 10 and 11 must dive with a PADI Professional or a certified parent or guardian. Dives may not exceed 12 meters/40 feet.

Junior Open Water Divers who are at least 12 but under 15 years old may dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet and may only dive with a certified adult. All Open Water Divers, including adults, should stay above 18 meters/60 feet until they have received additional training.

With additional training in the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver course, divers aged 12 to 14 may explore down to 21 meters/70 feet.

The Junior Open Water Diver course covers the same information and skills as the Open Water Diver course. So, a Jr. Open Water Diver may upgrade to Open Water Diver by simply ordering a replacement card once they turn 15 years old.

There’s also another way to get a card that doesn’t say “Junior” on it – and it’s a lot more fun. Take another scuba course!

Anyone over 10 years old and in good health can participate in the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
