Island is a National Park in Khuraburi district, Phang Nga Province.
“Similan” is Malay (Yawi) word which means “nine”. The park is
consisting of nine islands.
Recently, the park was expanded to included
two islands which are Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, so there are 11 islands.
 The biggest one is Koh Paed (8) which is the symbol of Similan Island.
Visibility is constantly around 20 - 30 meters through out the season with water temperatures never normally dropping below 28 degrees Celsius / 82 degrees Fahrenheit, so diving in a 3mm short wetsuit or just a rash vest.

6.30am: We will come and collect you from your hotel lobby and transfer you by air conditioned mini bus off the island of Phuket and onto Koh Lak, which is around one and a half hours North of Phuket.  At Koh Lak after a quick breakfast you will join the high powered speedboat which will transfer you to
the liveaboard stationed in the Similans: This takes just over an hour.  Once on the Live-aboard your divemaster for the day will give you a briefing on the boat facilities, where your dive equipment is and the dive plan. After a buddy check it is time to jump into crystal clear water: You will be amazed by the diversity of life on and around the coral reefs. The max dive time is 50 minutes. Once back on the live-aboard it is time to relax for an hour and a half, and discuss the marine life you had seen on the dive with your buddy and divemaster: Time for snorkeling and sun bathing. Over the surface interval a freshly prepared buffet lunch is cooked for you by the on board chefs.  After lunch it is time to move to a different dive location and gear up for the next world class dive......... Once back from the dive it is time to shower have a drink and relax until the speedboat returns to the live-aboard to transfer you back to the awaiting mini bus in Koh Lak. You will return to your hotel in Phuket around 6pm. The cost of the day trip to the Similan Islands:

6,200 Thailand Baht per diver.
4,000 Thailand Baht per snorkeler.
